The Peacock melds a hip urban vibe is aristocratic English design. This is a charming little venue located a bit away from the main strip of 6th street, but if you catch one of the free armadillo buses that run the street you save your self some time and energy. The green walls with white trim evoke an English countryside feel and the small venue makes for an intimate setting for a night out.
It's a fusion of classy meets urban with a ceiling flooded with chandeliers, comfortable white vinyl sofas and chairs, and overall a great configuration of spaces. Mixed drinks run around $4 and beers around $2. They have a beautiful porch off to the side with great white rod iron benches and tables adding even more to the English country feel. This is a hang out generally overrun by hipsters and young urban professional types, so it's a great mixture of people and the chances of anyone blending in are pretty good. Choose from one of their specialty cocktails, like the Tailfeather with green tea vodka, sake, and brewed green tea, or choose from one of 13 beers served.
Their hours are Saturday through Thursday 6pm to 2am and Friday 5pm to 2am. It's a trek from the main strip but well worth it!
