Golden Gate Theatre

Golden Gate is one of the older theatres in San Francisco, with a large art deco foyer, detailed ceiling, and grand staircase you really sense the history. We were able to see the premiere of the broadway company in The Mambo Kings, the musical. Usually in S.F. we get the "best-of-broadway" alternate casts, so this was a treat. With a large latino group in attendance, there was much singing and dancing on the stage and the aisles. A wonderfully historical musical tracing the immigration of the Castillo brothers to America and the popularity of their music.
