Gold Dust Lounge

The Gold Dust Lounge is a cheesy, but fun place to have your few last drinks of the evening. When we were there, a live band played requests, and the place was packed. Not sure how many were tourists. It was a good time, regardless.

A marquis-type sign draws you into the experience. The decor reflects the era the bar is emulating: gold-velvet embossed wallpaper and a long, red upholstered booth along one wall, as well as ornate picture frames. Our waitress was very friendly.

We had some shots that were $7 apiece. They had a beer and margarita special before 8:30pm ($4 for the 'rita, I think). Then the price went up to $8 after 8:30pm.

This bar is recommended for people who want to be in the action and don't mind a little dust. If you're looking for an intimate place to sip wine and talk, the GDL is not for you.
