Description
In commemoration of the workers' struggles of the 1930s, May 23rd was declared a public holiday in 1962 and became known as Labour Day. Each year the government holds a free concert to celebrate the holiday. New talent is given a chance to perform while sharing the stage with seasoned performers. There is something for everyone, secular and spiritual. So reggae lovers can rock to the latest beat, and then following, soul-stirring gospel music is heard sending a message. The concert is aired live on local television station, TVJ.
