Built in 1596, this ornate house was the home of Katherine Rogers. Her son, John Harvard, immigrated to America. In 1638 he left his estate to a new college, which was later renamed Harvard University. This house contains a museum of British pewter and displays relating to John Harvard. The novelist Marie Corelli had this house restored. Next door is the 16th-century Garrick Inn.

The Garrick Inn is one of Stratford’s oldest pubs. The present building dates back to 1595. It has been an Inn since the early 1700’s. It was renamed after the actor David Garrick after he organised the famous Shakespeare Jubilee here in Stratford in 1760.
