Big lunch crowd. The food was excellent, the service very fast. Prices were reasonable and the beer was cold. There were lots of places to sit and a couple of small rooms. It was a great place to mix with the locals.

My brother says that this is the finest pub and the finest pint of Guinness in Dublin.

The front bar is very historic, unchanged with small stalls set at the bar for private drinking; only the barman can get near you. The back has now been opened out so if you're going with a big group, you can still get the benefit of this classic pub.
