Dog and Duck
Great relaxed little pub close to the UT campus, and within walking distance (even if it is a good walk for most Texans standards)of 6th street. A good selection of beers, and I can recommend the fish and chips. The other travellers I was with all loved their typical pub grub. There are several locals that hang out on a regular basis, everyone was very friendly and are a great resource to guide you on what else to see in Austin.
