Formerly known as The Grapes, this small homely pub is located in the heart of the city centre. Despite retaining the original name plaque, which is set in mosaic at the entrance, it has had a complete refit in keeping with its character and age. Set out on two different levels, the top lounge features a cosy fireplace. The decor is dominated by jars of old herbal remedies, scales, pill makers and a huge pair of bellows. In addition to the selection of wines and spirits, a full range of local Cains cask conditioned ales and imported lagers is on offer.
