This is three levels of fun. There is music on two floors and a stage for performers on the other. If you have an open mind, go here, as the floor show is a hoot. There is The Lady Chablis, a drag queen with crowns to prove it. When "The Lady" is in town, expect a show that is funny. This club is for straight and gay people. My husband and I had a ball here.

This is a gay bar. But not just any gay bar. The music on the main dance floor is absolutely wonderful, and if that isn't your cup of tea, the options you have here are supurb. Downstairs there is a jukebox--you pick what you hear. The downstairs area is set up much like a pool hall. They have the tables, a cig machine, a mini dance floor for more private moments, and a snack bar that runs all night. Upstairs from the main club area is a complete stage and bare area for the drag shows. This club is the "main club" of the "lady Miss Shablis (from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil). Rest assured this will be no ordinary show. Every time I visit the talent is unmatched. Anyone and everyone who steps foot into these shows enjoys them whole-heartedly!! No matter what walk of life you come from, this is not a club to pass up!!

Club One is featured in the 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Book Tour' because it is where the colorful character Lady Chablis performs from time to time. For anyone who hasn't read the novel, Lady Chablis is a colorful drag-queen that the writer befriended. Club One has an interesting mix of homosexual and heterosexual patrons moving throughout its multiple floors, and the dance music is always awesome. The drag shows that are often put on at Club One (some starring the infamous Lady Chablis herself) are also a hoot. If those kind of things bother you, don't go to Club One. If you want to check it out, but you're just a little skiddish, don't be. Dance and let dance. It'll be a memorable experience.
