The Little Theater began in about 1923 and was a mainstay of the community, giving opportunities for aspiring actors and actreses to showcase themselves. Chattanooga Theater Center is the venue that opened in 1996 for the community organization known as Little Theater.
I purchased season tickets on four occassions for this venue, and have enjoyed every performance that I have attended. Productions of "Sweeney Todd", "The Importance of Being Earnest", and "Little Shop of Horrors" have been among my favorite presentations.
The facility is located beside the Tennessee River, beside the "walking bridge". The new facility is beautifully designed, and seats about 1500 people for performances. Outside is a beautiful garden area through which subscribers often stroll prior to a performance.
I have attended community theaters in other cities. This one is one of the better theaters of its type.
