Cappocaccia

We went here after dinner when we were in Italy for our honeymoon. It's a fun, hip place for a drink. We both had tequila sunrises at the suggestion of our waitress (who was from New York!), and I was a little sad that there was no room to dance. It has good music, but, as in most of Italy, it is very smoky. Check it out; it's right on the water and a lovely walk after dinner.

Right on the Arno, steps away from Ferragamo’s flagship store, Capocaccia is the place to see and be seen. Between eight and two every night, you’ll find Florence’s prettiest leaning on the wall of the Arno or mingling outside by the coveted tables and free finger food. Dress is trendy designer and sexy but you can wear jeans if the label is right.

Free appetizers like curry risotto, mixed crostini with artichoke spread, salmon cream cheese or the usual tomatoes and basil and sliced fennel or carrots dressed in salt, pepper and olive oil are another draw. Fancy cars pull up, bringing Florence’s well to do and tanned to enjoy the sunset and a few drinks.
