This large upstairs bar looks down on the heart of the Castro, and is certainly a popular stop on many folks' bar hopping routes. On the weekend the dance floor and bar areas were all packed with bodies pressed up against each other a little too close. It was impossible to move about and fairly hard to make eye contact with cute guys and thus begin a conversation.
The Café also draws a fairly young crowd, which is a plus for some and a bane to others. Large groups of kids were there to hang with each other rather than cruise, so plan appropriately. A pool table is available for play, but when it's so crowded you can forget about wielding a stick and getting in any shots. One of the nicest features of the club is that they have a glassed in patio for sitting down and watching the passing traffic below.
