Caesar’s Palace is huge and very easy to get lost in. Besides the gambling, the decor, Celine Dion selling out shows, and the Elton John shop loudly proclaiming that "the Bitch is back," the Forum shops and Appian Way were hands down the most unusual shopping on the strip. The floors are made to look like cobble stone and the ceiling is painted to look like the sky. You really get the sense that you are leaving Las Vegas. There are Greek statutes all over and Roman columns. This is a true shopper’s paradise. There are over 100 shops and restaurants that include everything from Armani Exchange, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nike Town, and the Cheesecake Factory to Burberry, Dior, Fendi, and Louie Vuitton. The shops keep their own hours but generally speaking they are open from 10 am-11pm on Sunday-Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Appian Way keeps the same hours as the Forum shops and offer shops including Ciro, Cartier, Galleria Michelangelo, Paul & Shark Yachting, and a shop that sells souvenirs from Caesar’s.
While lost in the forum shops I came across one of the free shows that they offer, the Fountain of the Gods. It features animatronics gods who are fighting over who shall rule Atlantis. There are a lot of special effects centered around fire and water and in the end Atlantis is lost to the sea. It was really corny. I highly suggest that you don’t waste your time, but if you are with younger kids they might enjoy it. The show takes place every hour between 10am – 11 pm.
Getting a taxi is one of the biggest nightmares in Vegas and picking them up at Caesar’s is no exception. Outside of the entrance you will see the line that is waiting for a taxi. Expect to spend at least 20 minutes minimum here later in the evening. You can choose to travel to and from Caesar’s another way, via monorail. They monorail that travels around Vegas gives Caesar’s its own stop.
