If you are planning a trip to the Las Vegas Strip, I would recommend stopping to shop at The Forum Shops of Caesars. The shops are more of a high-end mall with lots of shops to choose from. They also have two free shows you can watch as you browse the other fine retailers.

Every time I go to the Las Vegas Strip, I stop at the Forum Shops of Caesars because I love to go to the Cheesecake Factory. They have some of the best food, and the cheesecake is to die for. A must-stop for me.

They have hundreds of retailers to choose from such as Nike, FAO Scwartz, Gucci, and any other high-end place you can think of. The ceiling is painted like clouds, I could sit on a bench and watch it all day, truly remarkable.

I defiantly recommend a stop at The Forum Shops, a great experience.

Caesar's Palace

Caesar’s Palace is huge and very easy to get lost in. Besides the gambling, the decor, Celine Dion selling out shows, and the Elton John shop loudly proclaiming that "the Bitch is back," the Forum shops and Appian Way were hands down the most unusual shopping on the strip. The floors are made to look like cobble stone and the ceiling is painted to look like the sky. You really get the sense that you are leaving Las Vegas. There are Greek statutes all over and Roman columns. This is a true shopper’s paradise. There are over 100 shops and restaurants that include everything from Armani Exchange, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nike Town, and the Cheesecake Factory to Burberry, Dior, Fendi, and Louie Vuitton. The shops keep their own hours but generally speaking they are open from 10 am-11pm on Sunday-Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Appian Way keeps the same hours as the Forum shops and offer shops including Ciro, Cartier, Galleria Michelangelo, Paul & Shark Yachting, and a shop that sells souvenirs from Caesar’s.

While lost in the forum shops I came across one of the free shows that they offer, the Fountain of the Gods. It features animatronics gods who are fighting over who shall rule Atlantis. There are a lot of special effects centered around fire and water and in the end Atlantis is lost to the sea. It was really corny. I highly suggest that you don’t waste your time, but if you are with younger kids they might enjoy it. The show takes place every hour between 10am – 11 pm.

Getting a taxi is one of the biggest nightmares in Vegas and picking them up at Caesar’s is no exception. Outside of the entrance you will see the line that is waiting for a taxi. Expect to spend at least 20 minutes minimum here later in the evening. You can choose to travel to and from Caesar’s another way, via monorail. They monorail that travels around Vegas gives Caesar’s its own stop.

The giant fish tank is the base of one of the shows that runs in the mall. My daughter was afraid of the show at only 2 1/2 years old, though, so we had to make sure to leave before it started. She spent hours at the fish tanks, which include a variety of fish and sharks.

I think I was most overwhelmed by Caesar's casino than any other. It was enormous. I can't be sure of all the games that were there, but I imagine they have everything you'd be looking for.

If you are a shopper at all, you cannot miss the Forum Shops - try not to get lost! I didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked, but from passing through, I saw just about every brand/designer name I could think of!

Caesar's has a large collection of classy/gourmet restaurants. Although I didn't get the chance to dine at any of them, my friend visited Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill and enjoyed it.

This was our first gambling adventure in Vegas. We are not high-rollers, so we found the nickel slots quickly. After getting a quick drink from the cocktail waitress, we left the nickel slots and found the video poker machines. After a few minutes of this, we decided to continue on our way and cashed out. There were no big wins to speak of here, but it had a great atmosphere.
