There’s a good selection of clubs, pubs, and bars in Shrewsbury. Depending on the night you go, there may be a charge of up to £7. Dress fairly smartly, and avoid trainers and jeans. Flares, Liquid, the Butter Market, and the Ministry are the main nightclubs, but there is a selection of bars and pubs around the town. All of the pubs are within walking distance of each other. Some are pricier than others, but most offer special offers, especially on weeknights. These include buy-one-get-one-free and two drinks for £3-4. Generally, it's a good night out.
There are plenty of restaurants around the town if you fancy a bite to eat first. Italian restaurants in the town center tend to be excellent. Pizza Express, ASK, and Est Est Est are the three I would recommend, although Est Est Est is a little out of the action. If you’re looking for a quiet family drink with nice views, try the boathouse, situated near Port Hill; sitting on the banks of the river Severn, it offers stunning views and good drinks.
