Last Curtain Call

We were sad yet thrilled to be in PI on the last night it was open. It was so crowded we could barely move throught the crowd. We visited only 3 of the 6 clubs:
BET Club was off da hook
70's Club played some freestyle and 80's jams too.
Motion was the last club we in to before closing time and they played top 40 hits.

According to an article in the Orlando Newspaper - Disney is only closing the night clubs in PI and making them into more family oriented restaurants. Not to sound mean but Orlandos' night life sucked until this place opened up. Those poor Orlando residents... I hear City Walk at Universal is good too.

We love to dance and showed off our dancing skills when we visited Downtown Disney and the Talk of the Walk at Universal Studios. They had music for all ages and tastes.

This was a wonderful place! It had a bar for everyone! It had everything from 1920's speakeasy to BET! From the techno beats of Mannequins (with a rotating dance floor) to the tunes that you would chill to on the "Beach" (you can ride a mechanical surfboard). They also offer outdoor concerts with a Mardi Gras atmosphere! I highly recommend Pleasure Island to all age groups from 21-50! There is something for everyone!

Paradise Island

Paradise Island is the Disney owned nightlife area. It is comprised of various clubs from the BET Night Club, to Manniquins, the Adventurers Club, 8Traxx, and Motion, to name a few. Since this is a Disney area, all but two of the places allow persons under 21 to enter as long as they are with an adult. This can be a problem as the music is loud, there is a lot of smoke, and these places are really for children. We had our 19 year old daughter with us and she was able to go in the clubs but not have alcohol.

There is also an area called Westside which has a House of Blues, a night club owned by Gloria Estefan, and various places to eat. Everything is very colorful and lively and really comes alive after dark. There is an admission to Pleasure Island which once paid, allows you to come and go only on that evening.

Downtown Disney- Pleasure Island

Pleasure Island is hopping every night of the week. With seven different clubs and bars, there's definitely something here for everyone!
The Comedy Club offers about 6 shows a night- and it's a must see! They make everything up on the spot and keep the crowd laughing! They also poke fun at Disney- which is always good for a laugh.
BET dance club is brought to you by Black Entertainment Television- dance the night away.
The Beach Club is where you'll find the best of the 90's music- big enough where you don't have to dance it you don't want to.
8 Trax is where all you 70's lovers will want to check out- come with your Bellbottoms!
Adventure's Club is one of those places that's hard to describe, but once you check it out, you'll want to come back. It's comedy of sorts...highly recommended...
Manniquens is a dance club...only for those 21 and over.
The Jazz Club offers wonderful jazz in a relaxing environment- you'll forget you are at Disney World.
On the streets, music is playing and people are just handing out, there are also two outdoor stages that usually have bands playing. Drinks are about $5.50 per drink- but they don't short you on alcohol. You have to be 21 to drink- and they are VERY strict. If you are underage, you can go into any club except Manniquens.
Every night at midnight- they have a New Years Eve Celebration...in case you didn't enjoy Y2K...you can do it here, every night!
And if you're staying on Disney property, busses run all night back to the resorts, so you don't have to worry about drinking too much and driving.
