We visited Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville restaurant our last night in Cancun. We had no idea that dinner would include a guitarist crooning out American rock favorites familiar to us. We also enjoyed the "Hula dancers" performing some dances. Our children enjoyed the lively atmosphere, including balloon hats made for them.

I just loved going into this bar. If you are a Jimmy Buffet fan, this is the place for you. What a better way to sit down with a cold one and listening to Cheeseburger in Paradise!! Nothing beats it. I would go back here in an instant! Awesome.

Fins to the Left, Fins to the Right, I've been to Margaritaville in three countries, and this one has risen from the ruins of Wilma. In March, when I was there, they had been open 3 days and were in full swing. The beer was cold and the shot girls and their whistles were everywhere. Cancun puts its own twist on Margaritaville and it can be pretty expensive if you let yourself go. The bar is still located in the Flamingo Plaza Mall but it was the only thing still open in this mall. Everything else had collapsed or been destroyed in the mall. The manager told me he actually lived in the bar after the storm to help protect it and oversee the rebuild.

This is a favorite destination of mine no matter what country I'm in as I am a Jimmy Buffet fan i.e. Parrothead. I bought my yearly Margaritaville T-shirt and had a couple of drinks. Good times were had by all.

Take some time to visit this unique setting it is well worth your time.

A place we just had to stop and see, since Alan Jackson wrote a song about it. It is very clean. It's a nice place to go, and we went in to the shop.

For a family of parrotheads, this was heaven. There was good food, good beer, and Jimmy's music--what more could we want? That said, if you're not into Jimmy Buffett or don't know his music, this place may not be for you; then again, you might just enjoy yourself--you never know!
There is a good selection of food, with a separate kid's menu and some great cocktails, some of them alcohol-free, so the kids can have one as well.
The staff is very helpful, and the place gets lively after 8pm, so time your visit for what you want to do. The attached merchandise store is a magnet for Buffett fans like us, but if you're not a fan, give it a miss.
