Sinbad Hotel Bar

Although the drinks here are a little moe expensive than general bars and most hotel bars, I feel that this place deserves a mention because of the fantastic service and beautiful setting.

The Sinbad is a luxury hotel with its own private beach area and is set in gorgeous grounds filled with wonderfully scented plants and trees. We stopped off here while walking into the centre of Hammamet and stumbled upon a real find.

The bar was completely empty when we arrived, I guess most people were in their rooms getting ready for dinner. There is a comfortable lounge bar indoors, tastefully furnished as you would expect from this kind of hotel. We chose to sit just outside the bar in a covered area on the edge of a lovely paved area dotted with slightly trembling cypress trees and ornate pots of delicately fragranced jasmine.

Having ordered our drinks we took our seat and the waiter soon followed with our drinks and a selection of nibbles -- a dish of assorted olives (black and green, marinated, stuffed), a basket of small slices of crusty bread, spicy kettle-chip type crisps, and some great cheese.

So while the drinks cost more than we were usually paying, the tasty morsels kept our stomachs happy while we completed our walk into town.

A delightful setting, good service and delicious (free, well almost) food. We loved it!
