The Marquee Club
The Marquee is the best live-music venue in Halifax. There is a number of different areas to it. The main area has a few bars and a dance floor. On weekends, there are typically live bands playing, but during the week, there are theme-type nights (i.e. 80s night, etc.). There is a cool lounge called Devill downstairs, which is a cool place to relax and chat with friends. There is also an area downstairs called Hell’s Kitchen. There is typically some kind of function going on down there (such as wrap parties, as Halifax is a center for film production in Canada). The music at the Marquee is typically alternative, and it's definitely a great place to spend Friday or Saturday night.
