Refurbished but Still Cheap

This place is truly legendary, many a summer day has been spent outside here by me and friends. Located in the Zoliborz part of Warsaw, it's a small cycle or tram ride from the centre but essentially a residential area with little going on. There's a bike shop next door that were doing some work on a friend's bike, so we decided to pop next door to Club Grota for a beer in their beer garden. One beer became two and so on before we realised we were quite peckish.

Oh look, they sell pizzas too - we thought to ourselves. This place offers cracking value with Mega XXL pizzas (42cm) starting at a mere 18.90zl (£3.70), the ingredients are delicious and the outcome of the Pizza Mafia (an ingredient heavy pizza) is excellent tastewise and valuewise. Beer at 6zl is a nice price too and wine is even relatively cheap at 25zl a bottle.

It's not really somewhere you'd go for a romantic meal as it's a bit brazen for that, though the beer garden can be relatively nice. There's a gym, massage and solarium above it and inside the pizzeria is a pub and games room with billiard tables, football screens and a karaoke set for later in the evening! This is a very local place and next to no one who doesn't live in the area goes there but it's well worth a little trip out as it's extraordinary value.

There are also lots of other meals available and in particular the fixed lunch (starter and main meal) for 13zl is particularly good value. Meals change on a daily basis and the info can be found on their site (only in Polish, mind)
