The Real Italian, No Tourist Trap

Da Domenico is a real find - if you can find it. It's up some steep stairs on Piazza Leonardo. I'm sure we were the only non-Italians in the place. We started with a cheery glass of proseco and shared a huge plate of charcuterie (cold cuts) for a first course. Then the plates we ordered came in some sort of order, understood only by the waiter. But it worked out great, as we shared eat dish as it came along. First was a plate of ravioli stuffed with sea bass in a sauce of mussels, clams, shrimp, tomato, salty like the sea. Then came a plate of spaghetti with gamberini (shrimp), another tomato sauce, and even better than the first plate. This was followed by our last order, potatoes and mushrooms that doesn't sound like much but was out of this world. We considered ordering another plate of it for dessert! All of this was consumed with a nice bottle of Dolcetto d'Alba. Ah, Italy.
