Authentic Sicilian Restaurant

Ristorante Castelluccio is located directly between hotel Mazzaro Sea Palace and hotel Atlantis Bay in Taormina Mare. It is a convenient and delicious place to eat. Prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is outstanding. As the owner Nella told me "we are what we put in our bodies and we are not trash cans!" It's obvious she takes great pride in providing healthy and fresh home made dishes. In fact, she is so proud of her restaurant that she invited me into the kitchen to check on the cleanliness and cooking practices, an offer I declined because it was obviously a clean place. I ended up dining at Ristorante Castelluccio three times but after the first time there, anytime any of the staff would see me walking down the street they would shout out a greeting and give me a friendly smile. The service is also excellent and they treat their diners as welcomed guests.

Some of my favorite dishes were the Tagliolini with Zucchini Flowers, Shrimp and Clams. Also, the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Spaghetti Fisherman Style were outstanding. Can't go to Sicily without having Canolli and the ones served here were exceptional in presentation and taste. In fact everything I ate at this delightful restaurant was delicious and well prepared.

If you are staying in Taormina old town at the top of the hill it is worth a trip down on the cable car and a two block walk to eat at this restaurant. It is not touristy or expensive and you won't be disappointed. Reservations not required and open for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend Ristorante Castelluccio.
