You should get something to eat before tonight’s festivities. I suggest you travel back through the West End Circle and go to the small suburb of Crafton. It is roughly five minutes away so you need not to fret. Here you will find a hidden gem of Pittsburgh. It is a small Italian restaurant named Sarafino’s. This former malt shop turned restaurant only offers a limited amount of tables so seating should be reserved ahead of time. Be sure to bring your own wine or purchase a six-pack of alcohol if you would like some with your dinner. At Sarafino’s you will have some of the best pasta and pizza that you will ever find. Here you will also find a perfect display of Pittsburgh history. There are countless images that showcase the city’s origin. On any given night you will find a mix of average Joe’s and local celebrities. You can find former Pittsburgh athletes dining there on a regular basis and the University of Pittsburgh football coach Dave Wannstedt has been known to dine there on occasion.
