The Best Kebab and Possibly Falafel in Krakow

Pod Oslona Nieba has changed a lot since I first went there but the quality has remained the same. This kebab joint has always had a prime position on the corner of Ul. Dominikanska and Grodzka, close to the central square, close to all the clubs, open 24 hours. You can't help but notice it as you wait for the tram to cross the road and surely make a mental note to return in the near future.

Originally serving up the kebabs in short fat little pockets, the continued customs and constant queue has seen them enlarge their menu as well as their prices. There are a few seats inside where you can sit down to enjoy a meal - usually the same as you'd eat to take away but with chips. Though they do also do pizzas and some risotto looking like stuff.

A vegetarian friend of mine has mentioned that the falafels here are pretty good as well. For me it is the kebab that stands out though, they know what the tourists desire and it has proven popular with the locals as well as they wrap up fresh lettuce and tomato with delicious chicken in a long and fresh wrap.

There is a limited choice of sauces - spicey, mild or medium but the sauce is excellent and the kebabs are served extremely quick to ensure that even a large queue of drunks can be dispersed relatively quickly! It's rare you'll find a kebab shop in Poland that chooses lettuce and tomato over cabbage and beetroot - so do them a favour and give them some more custom!

Take away kebabs cost around 10-11zl whilst sit in meals tend to be around the 18zl mark.
