Best Restaurant in Kigali!

Heaven is by far the best restaurant I've been to in Kigali. It's got a well-crafted main menu of American and Continental dishes, an absolutely amazing dessert menu (try the homemade ice cream!), and the best wine list I've seen around town. The selection of vegetarian options is pleasantly large, and unlike every other restaurant I've been to in this city, the waiters actually understand the concept of asking for a dish without meat. (E.g. you can order a pasta dish that usually comes with meatballs *wthout* the meatballs, and this message will actually get through to the kitchen.) The crowds of expats and well-heeled Rwandans who usually populate the place definitely attest to the high quality of the food.
I happened to be there earlier this week when a troupe of traditional Rwandan dancers came in for a beautiful and enthraling performance, which I believe happens once a month or so. The menu also states that Heaven gives preference to employees who were orphaned by AIDS or the genocide, and who need to support their families, so eating there supports the social good as well. There's even a nice selection of crafts and artwork for sale near the entrance. A fantastic dining and social experience overall.
