Casual, Fresh Italian

A popular spot among both tourists and University of Vermont students with parents in tow, this casual Italian tratorria on bustling Church St. offers simple and delicious fare. All of the Italian standards are here, though be sure to try the excellent tomato and goat cheese bruschetta. Seating is in one of two rooms at basement-level; either in the open tratorria-like front room, or the slightly claustrophobic back room. In the warmer months, Three Tomatoes seats guests outside where they can watch the hustle and bustle on Church St. as they sip their bianco and eat their farfalle.

On my most recent trip to Burlington, my family and I came here. Though we did have to wait 30 minutes to be seated (it was UVM's Parents' Weekend) the service was fine afterwards. I ordered the bruschetta and chicken parmesan. The bruschetta was excellent like always, however the chicken parm was a little bland. The house tomato sauce is excellent though and ties the entire meal together nicely.
