We stopped at Houlihan's on our way to Conseco to have one last beer before the game.

There is a restaurant section in the center and right hand side of Houlihan's, and a very large open bar section on the left. We sat at the bar and were served within 5 minutes.

My husband got a beer, and I ordered a mojito. His beer came in seconds, but my mojito took a few minutes. That being said, the restaurant was very crowded, and the bartender was really nice and apologized for the delay.

We did not get food this time, but have on a previous occasion. I do not recall the exact prices of our meals, but found them to be reasonable. I remember that the food was really good, and varied enough that I (an extremely picky eater) was able to find something without a problem. It is also nice that all of their food is made from scratch. With our drinks this time, 2 beers and a mixed drink the total was around $15. A little steep compared to the small town that I live in, but my small town isn't hosting a big event.

What I really like about this restaurant is the way that they embrace the events that are going on in Indy. Before we moved here, we would stay downtown for the Brickyard. Houlihan's not had "Welcome Race Fans" banners and signs, but even gave us free items from their vendors, like drink coozies, coasters, and a necklace with a plastic shot glass attached.

Being here this time, there was a very welcoming feel for the Big Ten Fans to the restaurant.

Houlihans is a chain of 105 restaurants. Their website, www.houlihans.com features all of their locations, with many having downloadable menus. (Note to management: it would be GREAT if you could add this!) Their website is well designed, and you can joining their mailing club for a free entree on your birthday. (I'm always all about a free meal or money saver!)

If you're in Indy for an event and are making the downtown rounds, make sure to include Houlihan's on your route!
