This place was a hoot! It was all of one block from our B&B, and the owners are fun folks. The place is owned by Robbie and his mother Beryl, and they serve tasty pies of all types (Robbie will give you a running commentary on their preparation), pints, warm fire talks, and lots of types of whisky. Lots of local RAF folks come in, and the place is decorated with RAF paraphenalia. We went there a couple times while in the area, and felt at home each time. We were treated like the locals and welcomed warmly.
There is a warm crackling fireplace in one room, a large TV in another, and billiards and other games in the back. Doggies are welcomed, and there is a sign outside proclaiming this. There is a limited menu of pies and chips, but they are delicious. Robbie doesn't make them himself, but they taste homemade.
They have a great selection of whiskys with descriptions on the boards next to the bar. They also have real ales and cider. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing evening and great fun.
