Tasty Eco-Friendly Eat

Terrene is a wonderful restaurant in the vibrant Central West End. I would encourage making a reservation as they can get busy. Every aspect of their restaurant is as eco-friendly as it could be-locally grown vegetables, sustainable furniture and lighting. Our server was a bit snippy and the in your face type, but aside from her personality I would definitely return here. This is the kind of restaurant you would expect to find in Seattle or San Francisco and is also the kind St. Louis desperately needs.

I ordered the bean dip ($5) -wonderful humus like appetizer to share. A small helping is included in the condiment tray served with your breadbasket. For my entree I ordered the sirloin steak ($20) which is served with homemade steak sauce and local vegetables along with shoe string potatoes. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians and 'felxitarians' as well. The desserts are wonderful. On my most recent visit I ordered a mixed berry belt (not exactly sure what it means) but it's like a cobbler. The menu does change regularly, so its often best to check online Ample free parking is available in the area, however valet is also available.
