My Favorite Florida Restaurant!

I don't know what it is about the restaurant that has made it so crazy popular? It's kind run down, the decor is pretty much based on pigs and plants, and they're pretty up front that if you want fast service...you are at the wrong place. So what is it....???

Ah yeah...the food.

NC pulled pork, yam patties, fried okra, corn pudding, corn fritters, spinach souffle, squash & cheese, hush puppies, butter beans, ribs, bread pudding, greens, pecan pie...I'm starting to drool just thinking about all their so so good food! And it's CHEAP! Not $1.00 menu cheap, but cheaper than Sonny's - and worth every penny.

I believe they are closed on Mondays, and when they are open they close at 8:00 pm. There is often a long line {it's a very small place} so get there about 30 minutes before you intend to eat. We had to stop by when it was closed just to be able to get these pics! They ONLY accept cash - no exceptions...but if you forget to bring your money, there is an ATM on site. There are peacocks roaming the driveway, so be careful when you pull in!

Also, Hickory Hollow is actually in Ellenton, Florida - not Sarasota.
