Mediocre Silesian Beer Hall Chain

Bierhalle is an attempt at a German beer hall chain throughout Poland, not going exactly for the German fare but more the Silesian style of food that was evident in South of Poland under German rule and still is to some extent. The chain though, complete with plush white leather furnishings, traditionally dressed waiteresses, plasma screens and in the case of the one in Arkadia in Warsaw, a fairly reasonable balding Scot who wants to be and to be fair close is to being a rock star who runs sing a long nights there is far from how one would imagine an original Silesian beer hall. In fact, rather than beer swilling lumberjack lookalikes, you are more likely to find well dressed couples of considerable wealth dining out there.

The fare is mostly meat, meat, meat. To be honest I don't like German cuisine at all and am forever grateful for the Turks and their kebabs each time I visit Germany, according to a German the food wasn't up to standards, it was no different to any other I had tasted though. Bierhalle also make their own beer - the lightest being Bierhalle Ciemne at 4.9% and the strongest being the Bierhalle Kozlak 7.5%, there are several others in between and the price is 8zl for 0.4l or 20zl for 1 litre with exception to Kozlak which is more expensive and tastier too (11zl/27.50zl)

Their beer is worse than the more regular beers available elsewhere and I don't think it's worth forking out the prices for fattier versions of meat dishes which can be found in a Sphinx restaurant near by for half the price.

Should you wish to ignore my advice though, you can find them situated at the following locations:

Warsaw: Arkadia Shopping Center and in the centre Manufaktura and on Nowy Swiat street near the crossing with Chmielna and finally one in the recreational park that is very popular on the weekends - Pole Mokotowskie

Katowice: Silesia Center

Wroclaw: Old Town Square

As I understand they've also opened one up in Lodz recently but I don't know where!
