The Cafe is an island of quiet quality in a city of BBQ and fast food. The decore is dark wood and polished brass, the lighting muted. The emphasis here is on the food, served simply and prepared professionally.
The Cafe has a wood-fired oven which cooks just about everything on the menu: Ovenbaked Artichoke with Balsamic Drizzle, pizzas, meat, chops, etc.
Everything is prepared on the premises, including all the bread and baked goods. Sourdough here is really sour, not to San Francisco standards, but better than anywhere within 500 miles.
Open 7am to 10pm daily, serving all three meals.
