Description
This is a casual restaurant in Kawaihae that recently opened. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is not a fancy restaurant but the food is pretty good. We ate here for lunch. Their Club Sandwich was delicious ($7.50) and came with turkey, swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes on a toasted wheat bread. Since I like homemade soup, I thought I would try their Portuguese Bean Soup ($4.50 - cup) which was very delicious. My son tried their Hamburger and French Fries which was $9.00. His hamburger was big and he enjoyed it. They also have a good salad selection such as Greek Salad for $9.75 which comes with greens, feta cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, pepperoncini, Green olives and topped with herb vinaigrette. For dinner they have specials such as Panko Chicken with Mushroom Gravy ($8.95) and Braised Beef Short Ribs at $10.50. Their Lemon Basil Fresh Catch is $14.50 and includes seared freash fish with lemon basil compound butter. They also have side orders such as steamed rice, mac salad, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. This is a great place to grab a bite but don't expect anything fancy. There is a lot of parking out front but it does get busy during dinner time around 6:00 p.m. To get to the Kawaihae Shopping Center turn left at the Queen Kaahumanu junction and continue about a mile on highway 270 until you see the Kawaihae Shopping Center. You can't miss it because there are numerous restaurants and shops in one building that overlooks the Kawaihae Small Boat Harbor.
