Nice Italian Restaurant with Views of Kona Bay

This is a nice Italian restaurant on the second floor with beautiful view of Kona Bay. Paleo Bar and Grill was formerly known as the Kona Galley Restaurant. You can view the extensive menu before you enter the restaurant at the entrance on Palani Road. They have a nice dinner menu that includes steak, seafood, and chicken dishes. Their dinner items average about $18 - $25. I would recommend eating near the lanai so that you can get a good view of Kona Bay and Kailua Pier. Sunsets in Kona are fabulous and you don't want to miss it. This restaurant is conveniently located on the main strip of Ali'i Drive. It is within walking distance from the Kona Seaside and King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel (about 5 minutes). Service can be slow especially when it gets busy but the food is good. You can find paid parking next to King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel.

It's not cheap (basic burger runs $10+) but it is delicious. I had to share mine with a hungry five year old... so, uncharacteristically, I ordered a second and ate every bite.

The fries are also not that re-heated staple of pub food everywhere... they are instead tasty and fresh.

It's true they do seem a bit slow on the service... but in this open air, second floor establishment, you can easily sit back and enjoy the view while waiting.

A small snafu (Onions on my burger when I asked they be held) brought a response of a free refill on my local micro-brew. Not bad for such a small transgression!

I'll go back 100%
