Cafe Biba

Description

Cafe Biba is a bar/cafe/restaurant located in downtown Warsaw, in the Muranow district which is slightly to the west of the exact centre. Address: Ul. Jana Pawla II 52/54 (take tram 16,17,19,33 to Nowolipki and cross the road) This area is currently undergoing renovation as a row of shops opposite are being re-built in to a snazzy new fashionable area but there's no noise from the work and you can still enjoy a beer, shake or Italian meal from the neighbouring (Pizza Dominium) in relaxing surroundings.

The great thing about this bar, is that the owner and staff are extremely friendly and everyone from any race can feel welcome here including dogs who are also allowed inside and out and are provided with their own water bowls ;).

They also have several happy hours throughout the day where the beer is reduced from 6zl to 5zl (1.25). The cheaper beers are Krolewskie and Warka at 6zl whilst Zywiec is more expensive at 7zl, a hole host of other drinks are available in bottles, there is also a cocktail menu and the prices are all very reasonable. The toilet seat is one of those with barbed wire inside and occasionally makes people think twice about sitting on it, who've never come across one before but it's been a little wonky for a while now!

This pub opens at around 1pm and shuts at about 1 or 2am, there are plenty of seats outside and several comfortable tables inside. This is one of my favourite pubs in Warsaw and is definitely a pleasant place for people to go in particular if they have just been visiting the Jewish ghetto area because it's right next to it (the pub itself is a mere 100m from The Pawiak Prison Museum.

Music is generally rock, nothing too boystrous though: Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Firewater, The Police, Sting, Pidzama Porno, Kult, Jack Johnson come to mind.

There is also Wifi here and a good selection of tea!
