Great Starbucks at Prince Kuhio

This is a great place to stop at if you are at the Prince Kuhio Shopping Plaza. It is within walking distance to the main Prince Kuhio Shopping Mall. It is a small cafe with the usual Starbuck's decor. The cafe is elongated with a sitting area to the right of the store. There is a lot of parking so you don't have to drive very far to find a parking space. I always like to come here to get a tall or grande vanilla latte ($3.75 and $4.05) and a croissant ($2.50). They also have their house coffees along with other special flavors of the day like Columbian and Sumatra coffees. They sell limited edition coffee mugs with "Hawaii" printed on the front as well as other Hawaiian themed coffee holders. A lot of college kids come to do their work here on their laptops since this location is a WIFI hotspot. I would recommend coming to the Starbucks location if you don't want to fight traffic (like at the Starbucks next door by Borders). The lines are usually not very long at this Starbucks and the service is fast and friendly. To get here, drive to Hilo on Highway 19 then turn right on Highway 11 (Kanoelehua Avenue) and continue south until you see the Prince Kuhio Shopping Plaza. Make a left on E. Puainako Street. Make a left turn on Ohuohu Street then turn left into the Shopping Plaza by Macy's. You will see another building on your right with other restaurants such as Quiznos, Kuhio Grille, and Jamba Juice.

Great Drive Thru Lane at Starbuck's in Hilo

I always come to this Starbuck's when I want to order coffee in the Drive Thru Lane. This is the only Starbuck's in Hilo that I know of that has a Drive Thru Lane. I have ordered coffee inside before but I prefer to order in the Drive Thru Lane in the comfort of my air-conditioned car. My favorite beverage is the hot Vanilla Latte in either the Tall size (about $3.75) or the Grande size (about $4.00). The speaker system in the Drive Thru Lane is not the best but it works! The Drive Thru line can get long especially during lunch on weekends but the line moves fast. Service is great and the cashier is very friendly and accommodating. They are always willing to give service with a smile. The interior of the cafe is very nice, spacious and clean. They also have outside seating if you prefer to sit outside and look at the view of Hilo town. I would recommend this Starbuck's location if you want to order a drink or hot beverage in their Drive Thru Lane.
