Boracay Regency Buffet

You'd think anything associated with the Regency Hotel would be a four-star establishment. The Boracay Regency Buffet is across from the sprawling mansion of a hotel they've built on White Beach staffed with uniformed guards, waiters, and help. The buffet is outdoors, of course—you wouldn't eat any other way when you're on the beach—but I didn't expect their food to be as cold as the nighttime water.

I asked three different waiters for the pancit bihon, a Filipino noodles dish, to be replaced on the buffet table, but to no avail until I asked for the manager. But by this time, almost 20 minutes had passed and I was very frustrated and hungry. When I asked one waiter what ingredients they had in their soup special, he simply told me he didn't really know. He didn't even ask another waiter to get me an answer. My friends ordered steaks, but two of them had their leathery orders returned to the kitchen.
