This is an oasis of a restaurant on busy Hang Be. Walking through the doorway of Green Tangerine transports you into a tranquil courtyard with open air dining opportunities, a fish pond to entertain the children, all tastefully decorated. If you want to sit indoors, there is an indoor dining area. Once through the doorway, you forget the hustle and bustle of the old quarter shops, and really are able to relax and enjoy the continental fusion cuisine.
There is a monthly changing set lunch menu for $7.50 and includes a main course and dessert, or you can order off the menu at prices ranging between $4 for appetizers to above $15. There is a huge selection of wine and drinks too.
The upstairs provides a minor view but also offset from the hustle and bustle.
This is a great place to stop during a shopping expedition or hit for a peaceful lunch and/or romantic dinner. If you are in the mood for adventure after, just walk back out of the doors back onto the narrow busy streets.
The green tangerine dessert is a hollowed out orange, mixed with yogurt and cointreau and frozen to produce a delightfully refreshing end to the meal. Make sure you give it a try!
If you have children and the weather is good, I'd recommend sitting in the courtyard so the children can look at the small pond and peer through the wrought iron gated doors at Hang Be Street's activity.
