Myself and a couple of my friends went to Geronimo in New Haven. We thought it was FANTASTIC. Despite the length of time the food came out (about 45 minutes), it was well worth it! The waitress apologized and explained that everything is made to order, so it may take a little longer than expected, we didn't mind after we tasted the delicious dinner. The drinks were incomparable to any other restaurant I have been to in New Haven. I had the strawberry coconut margarita (be sure not to get salt on the rim). I had the Chicken Mole and a few others got the Nystrip (Santa Fe-style). Overall we were pleased with our dinners, drinks and the service was above average. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, outgoing and funny. I think her name was Daniela.

Four of us, two couples, went on a recent Saturday night. Service, atmosphere, etc. was perfectly fine. We each had different dishes, tamales, chili relleno, sea bass and cod - all were very good.
When we saw the other reviews we almost decided not to go. We've never reviewed a restaurant before but felt we had to add our two cents worth.

Geronimo is situated in the club district of New Haven. It is a handsome restaurant that is building its reputation more on the diversity of tequila that it offers than the food. The chili tequila was memorable but the "Southwestern" fare was simply bland and sloppily presented. In a town over-flowing with wonderful Latino cuisine, Geronimo failed to even make a blip on this humble diner's culinary radar.

I was really looking forward to eating at Geronimo Restaurant in New Haven as I watched it being built over the last few months. The restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated with obvious care. I went there three times. The first time I went it was the first week they had opened so let me skip the disaster we experienced with the food. I could forgive opening week jitters. The Second time we visited, my friends really wanted to try the new place in town out. The tamales were simply awful and the the rest of the dinners came out of the kitchen staggered by fifteen or so minutes. Worst of all one of the beef dishes and the halibut were burned to a crisp and were as tough as a doggie chew. The waitress apologetically informed us that the chef was having a bad day and that he had a fight with his wife? I don't know how I was convinced to go the third time but none of us will go back, for certain and let's keep it at just that because I've rambled on too much at this point. Never again. Too bad because I was really rooting for this place. If the food stays this bad they should focus on being a bar because it is a beautiful place.
