Once a month, my boyfriend and I try to go out, just the two of us. Last month we went to the cinema but as we had a few hours to spare before the film, and we were pretty hungry, we decided it would be a good idea to dine. So we headed to the food court to see what the available options were. Of course there was McDonald’s, Burger King, a Chinese restaurant…and El Gorro Blanco.
El Gorro Blanco is a decent family-friendly restaurant, which has a wide variety of food in the menu.
We sat and, after five minutes, a waiter brought us the menu. Both, my boyfriend and I went with the beef and salad and shared a beer and a coke. The beef came with french fries, a fried egg, and two salads, one of them included lettuce and tomatoes and the other one potatoes, carrots, egg, peas, and mayonnaise. It was delicious and healthy (except for the fried egg and mayonnaise, which were not so healthy but delicious).
According to Uruguayan standards, it was not a budget meal ($40, without tip), but we enjoyed it a lot and we had the best service we had ever had anywhere else. The waiter brought our orders in no time and came three times to check if we needed anything.
Unfortunately, by the time we finished dinner the film was about to start so we didn’t have time for dessert. We ended up having a McDonalds’ ice cream after the film.
All in all, this is a restaurant I would definitely come back not only for the food but also for the service. Visit it, you won’t be disappointed.
