Description: Best described as a "Milwaukee Greek Diner" Bluemound Gardens has been a favorite of locales for many years. On the weekends, it is next to impossible to get in for breakfast without at least a short wait. With that being said, we have never allowed the possibility of a wait to keep us away! Any time we are back in Milwaukee, Bluemound Gardens is the place to go for a plentiful and high quality breakfast.
For me, most mornings when I dine here I order one of the many omelet creations that they offer. All egg dishes come with a generous portion of hash browns and your choice of a variety of breads. If you enjoy waffles, pancakes or blintzes, you will find the choices here to be outstanding.
The bottomless cups of coffee or hot tea are provided by very attentive servers and busboys. The hot breakfast beverages also come with a crunchy biscotti which makes for a nice breakfast appetizer of sorts and are good for dunking too!
If you are in for lunch or dinner, you will find equally pleasing menu options at great value. Their gyros and sandwiches are oversized and in some cases, enough to share with others. Dinners include salad and are also very delicious, served piping hot from the kitchen. They use a rotisserie grill for their chicken, helping to retain the juicy goodness inside. Sometimes I wonder how they can provide all that delicious food for such a low price.
If you enjoy wonderful freshly baked desserts, this is the place for you. As you enter, you will see the bakery case filled with an assortment of cakes and pies, as well as cheesecake and baklava. So sweet it can make your teeth hurt, the baklava is probably the best I've ever had.
They have recently enclosed their bar area in order to meet local ordinances regarding smoking. Those who wish to smoke may do so in this area, which features four large televisions as the area serves as a sports bar nights and weekends. If "happy hour" is your thing, stop in between Monday through Friday 3pm and 6pm for complimentary appetizers and half priced adult beverages.
Bluemound Gardens is adjacent to the Days Inn, but does not provide room service to hotel guests. The hallway connecting the rooms also connects to the restaurant, however. So if you are staying there I would suggest you make it a point to dine here at least once during your stay!
