La Nave

Wood fired pizza oven is the key here. Excellent thin crust pizzas are the star, costing $7-$10. My wife and son shared a whole fish which was judged to be adequate but not the best ever.

Friendly, attentive staff in a casual environment. We sat just off the street and I admit I developed a fondness for the fluid boundaries, common with many restaurants/dining places here. The openness and the street traffic, both human and automotive, add a liveliness to the experience and are easy enough to avoid by sitting further back into the restaurant.

Capping off the meal: cappuccino. One of my puzzlements in visiting the Mayan coast is the mediocrity of coffee, but La Nave was a welcome re-connect with my biased, gourmet coffee-tainted palate.
