La Truffa

La Truffa is nestled in a cute passageway connecting Santa Catalina and San Francisco streets, and serves Italian and Peruvian food.

As this was one of our first days in Peru, we opted to sample the local cuisine. I had the rocoto relleno, which was stuffed peppers filled with spicy meat and cheese. It was very tasty and filling.

My husband had the trout in garlic sauce, which was nicely done, and served with salad and french fries.

We sat outside the restaurant, which was a good place for people-watching and listening to local musicians. The drawback of sitting outside is that you will be the target of persistent locals wanting to sell you things, but I suppose that's life as a tourist in another country!
