Our Kitchen has been one of our favorite pancake houses for years. With their famous baked apple and Dutch pancakes it's not hard to see why. This cozy restaurant has been turning out quality breakfast delights for over 25 years. They do get very busy on a Saturday/Sunday morning, but they do not take reservations. They do have a small trinket stores connected to the restaurant that you could wander while you wait.
The restaurant itself is fairly large with a non-working fireplace in the main room and plenty of booths. The coffee is always in fresh and plenty supply and the friendly waitresses are all dressed in Our Kitchens colors of blue and white.
I've always gotten good service. If you order one of the baked pancakes, such as the Apple or Dutch baby, the wait staff reminds you of the 30 minute wait and keeps the coffee coming.
On busy Saturday and Sundays wait times can get a bit longer but service is always with a smile. And the wait is well worth it.
My favorites are the Baked Apple pancake, the Dutch baby (with powdered sugar and lemon) and the Swedish pancakes (with your choice of cranberries or linconberries). The first two take the 30 minutes because they are baked and they are HUGE. Enough for two to share and still have leftovers. One of these delights will cost you around $7-8.
The other joy they serve are the omelets. These are always fluffy and packed with whatever insides you deem fit to grace your eggs. The menu is pretty big and chances are they have the dream breakfast you have been craving. Most mains run around $5-6 dollars.
However, if you aren't a breakfast fan, they do have a small lunch menu with sandwiches and salads. While it's not as impressive as the breakfast spread they still do a mighty fine lunch. A good bet is the BLT.
Our Kitchen is a great place for a hearty, well-crafted breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
