Delicious Local Food

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue serves up good local food. I really like this location because it is new and the food is very delicious. Tonight we ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate ($7.27) which came with 2 scoops of white steamed rice, a large scoop of macaroni salad, and barbecue chicken on a bed of thinly sliced cabbage. The sauce was out of this world and the chicken was nice and hot when we got it. My son ordered the Chicken Katsu plate (tender pieces of boneless chicken coated with special seasoning and deep-fried, served with Barbecue Katsu sauce), and his friend ordered the BBQ Short Ribs plate which was also $7.27. They also serve a mini plate which is smaller for $5.27. They also serve a variety of other favorite plates which include BBQ Beef, Loco Moco, Kalua Pork, Fried Shrimp, and Mahi Mahi to name a few. Their food is very tasty and it will keep you coming back for more! Service is quick and the cashier is friendly and accommodating. I would certainly recommend coming to L&L Hawaiian Barbecue at the Parker Ranch Shopping Center for lunch or dinner.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

Hawaii's premier Hawaiian fast food chain is the L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. This greasy Asian-infused fast food chain is very popular in Hawaii, and is now being expanded across the western United States.

The menu is varied and enticing. With everything from poi (mashed taro root) to barbecue platters, to roasted pork, the menu has something for everyone. I ate here for the first time while recovering from food poisoning, so my stomach was pretty weak. The food was horrible. I ordered a barbecue platter. The plate consisted of tough strips of jerky covered in a sweet teriyaki sauce, served with rice and macaroni salad.

I decided to give it another try a few days later - big mistake. I ordered a similarly bad platter, the Chicken Katsu, which were tough, dry, and tasteless. The soup was the only thing decent on the menu that I was able to try. This experience turned me off of Hawaiian food entirely. It is a good, cheap place to experiment with the cuisine, though, so give it a try and see what you think.
