Good Carne Asada

I like hanging out at Pancho and Leftys and eating the Carne Asada. They also have yummy cheese enchiladas, salsa, margaritas, and deep fried cheese cake.

Pancho and Lefty's

If you enjoy eating Mexican food and drinking tropical drinks, then this is a great place to dine at for lunch or dinner. It is located on Ali'i Drive near the Hulihe'e Palace. We usually eat lunch there on Sundays when we shop in Kona. There is no parking on Alii Drive so we usually park in the public parking lot located off of Kuakini Road right behind the Kona Seaside Hotel. It is a 5 minute walk from the public parking lot to Pancho and Lefty's. During lunch there is usually a lot of seating on the main floor but the tables near the balcony are often filled at lunchtime. If you can get a table near the balcony then you can see all the cars and visitors cruising down Ali'i Drive. There is no dress code at this restaurant and we always wear shorts and a polo shirt to eat here. I like to order the enchilada entree (which includes Mexican rice and refried beans), my husband likes to order the bean/cheese burrito entree and my son always orders the nachos with beans and cheese. With drinks (non-alcoholic) our total tab usually runs about $35. If we order alcoholic beverages and smoothies, our tab runs about $50 (without tip). The service at this restaurant is great since most of the waitresses are very friendly and helpful. Service is also fast since you will get your meal within 10 - 15 minutes (depending if you order mixed drinks) unless it is really busy. They accept most major credit cards. I would recommend that you buy a Hawaii Entertainment Book which contain valuable coupons for Pancho and Lefty's. Enjoy!
