Description: The Melting Pot is a unique and upscale restaurant. Their motto is "Dip into Something Different" and that says it all—it serves fondue. It is also very romantic. Our meal started with a rich and creamy cheese fondue served with a variety of bread cubes, apples, and vegetables. We then were given a pot full of beef broth, red wine, and spices. Once it was boiling hot, we cooked an assortment of beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and two colorful vegetable ravioli. The multitude of flavorful dips were fun and delicious. The only unfortunate thing about the entree was that since all the meat and vegetables were cooked in the same broth, they all tasted the same. The dips were what gave each bite a new and exciting taste.
The centerpiece, so to speak, was the dessert—chocolate fondue. They have about 10 different chocolate combos to try and all sound as sinful as the next. We had the Flaming Turtle, a mixture of milk chocolate, pecans, caramel and then a liquor that is set on fire. What a treat to dip the assortment of brownies, pound cake, cheesecake, fruits into this awesome warm chocolate. It was wonderful.
They will prepare a special treat for your love ie: roses if you like. That was quite a nice surprise to find them at our table. They have a few different special items if roses are not to your liking.
The service was wonderful. They prepare the fondue at your table and seem to always be filling a drink. It is not a place for everyday eating, not unless you can afford the best everyday. Our dinner was a menu package and was about $90 for the cheese fondue, salad, entree, and chocolate fondue. Alone, the cheese or chocolate fondue is $15 for two people and the entrees range in higher prices. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone willing to try something out of the ordinary or someone looking for a nice and romantic place to spend time with your love.
