I'm pleased with most of the food this restaurant has to offer. My favorite dish was the pot roast, which tasted better than any I have ever made. So tender, you could cut it with a spoon. Carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes were cooked in with the pot roast, too, and deliciously soaked up the juice, just like they should. I couldn't believe that in addition to pot roast, they also served steak, to order. I requested medium rare, and it was perfect; nice and red in the middle, but not bloody.

It was hard to decide which I liked better- the steak or the pot roast, but I if I had to choose one, I'd probably choose the pot roast. I also sampled the rotisserie chicken, which was very juicy and had tasty seasonings. The meatloaf was ok but a little dry—not as good as a more authentically homemade meatloaf. I definitely preferred the pot roast and the steak. I'm not too big a fan of fried chicken, so I didn't try it, although it looked good. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount and variety of meat available at the buffet.

As for vegetables, the choices were great. Broccoli, cooked carrots, corn, and green beans, just to name a few. There were sauteed mushrooms and onions available to garnish the steak (or whatever you choose to add them to). There was a choice of baked potato (complete with a choice of toppings- butter, sour cream, chives, and cheese) or homemade mashed potatoes (complete with chunks of real potato skin- my favorite part of mashed potatoes!) My girlfriend loves potatoes, so she was in heaven! As for other side dishes, the macaroni and cheese was phenomenal.

Now, don't laugh, but normally my favorite mac and cheese is from Boston Market. However, Golden Corral beats it. A nice perk about this buffet restaurant was that the waitress brings hot rolls with a honey-butter spread to the table. Even if I was completely full, I would still down one of those rolls! See for yourself in the photos- they look and taste fabulous.

The reason I only recommend this restaurant as opposed to highly recommend it is because of the dessert table.

The desserts are not something that I would go telling people about. In fact, after looking over the desserts for quite a bit of time, I just decided on some soft-serve ice cream with various toppings (chocolate chips, mini-marshmallows, and sprinkles). Chocolate cake, brownies, coconut cream pie, and various fruit pies...none looked appetizing enough. Other than that, my meal was great and I would go back and eat again—just not dessert. Close
