Description: The Ocean Room on the Pier at Circular key is defiantly a pearl in Sydney Harbour. We dined there before heading to the Symphony at the Opera House, and because we informed the staff that we needed to be done with dinner at a certain time, they made sure our meals were prepared quickly.
While the menu is mainly seafood, those of us who do not enjoy seafood have plenty of options as well. While my friend enjoyed the perch, I absolutely loved my aged Angus beef, which was served with green beans (also tasty!). The steak was cooked perfectly, and it had great flavour. For dessert, we both had the chocolate sampler, which also was excellent. Three different types of chocolates served, with beautiful presentation.
As previously mentioned, the service was impeccable, and never were our wine or water glasses empty. The view was also great as we had a view of the Circular Quay section of the harbour as well as the Opera House.
Despite the fact that a meal for two with a bottle of wine was around US$150 (this included two mains, one side for the table, and one bottle of wine), I believe the Ocean Room was well worth it. By far, it was one of the best meals I have had in Australia, if not ever. I would definitely eat here again, and I recommend the restaurant to adults with no children who are willing to pay a premium price for premium food and service.
