This restaurant has a killer happy hour! Happy hour is from noon to 6pm and 8:30 to closing every day in the bar. This is a GREAT deal if you are willing to eat in the beautifully decorated bar, because not only do they have great deals on drinks, but their appetizers are half-off, too! The appetizers are not your run-of-the-mill bar food. Piero’s Acqua Pazza is a seafood restaurant that has an awesome selection of appetizers that can easily be a meal if you order a few to share with friends.
My sister and I happened upon this place as we were looking around the Rancho Mirage shopping mall. It has a large outside patio area right on the “river” encircling the mall. This is not your typical mall restaurant. It has an upscale feel to it without being pretentious. The décor inside is really nice and modern. It incorporates a lot of water into the theme.
We ate at the bar for happy hour and were offered excellent service by the bartender. There are also a few tables in the bar also if you prefer. We had a wonderful ceviche, tasty crab cakes (we actually ended up placing a second order!), the tower of avocado and tuna tartar, and the classic margherita pizza. Everything was fresh and tasty. The portions were not huge, but a pretty good size for the happy hour price we were paying. Oh, and they have an extensive selection of tequilas (more than I knew existed), domestic and international beers, and wines, but we went with a couple of their specialty mixed drinks that were VERY strong and yummy. The service was quick and friendly. We ended up staying for a while to watch a game that was on and never felt rushed. I’d love to try them for dinner, but I don’t know if I could ever pass up the deal for happy hour!
