Advertised as the oldest BBQ in Texas and supposedly one of the best; however, our experience would rate it one of the poorest. Texans we met said we should have hit Smitty's or Kreuz's also in Lockhart. The sausages were dry like a pepperoni and not flavourful. The pork was tender but also very dry. The ribs weren't bad, but if you are looking for sauce, they don't serve it. The sides were supermarket-style coleslaw and potato salad and some overcooked vegetables and tough corn on the cob, etc. Sure a letdown when you have had great BBQ before and expect something special from this place that is touted in all the tourist brochures.
